Mohg had fought you tooth and nail, cutting you down each and every time you persistently rose from that ridiculous site of grace outside his mausoleum. Every time he caught the scent of your blood it drove him mad, his blood boiled. You had rambled about his dynasty being a sham, questioning his motives. He hated it. He hated you.

After a fight that had resulted in you above him, blade to his neck, his heart thumped rapidly in his chest as he gazed up at you. For a moment, he had forgotten that you were about to kill him. Mohg had to steel his wits before he just barely scraped by, knocking you down once more. Oh, he hated that feeling. He loathed how it felt to just look at you. putrid little dove...

Mohg found himself shocked when his chest began to ache in your absence. It had been months since you had attempted to fight him and knock him down. You had come so close. Mohg paced around, distraught over the feeling that was wrecking his psyche. He needed to fight you. Needed to see you. He needed to scent your blood, over and over as he pinned you beneath him... Oh... such a bittersweet feeling...

When Mohg saw you standing in front of him again, ready to fight after months of being apart, he was furious. How could you leave him? His putrid little dove... how dare you abandon him like you had. The fight was heated. Mohg rambled mindlessly over how vile you were, how much he hated you, and how dare you leave him for so long. The last comment caught you off guard and you stumbled back. He pinned your wrists against the floor as he loomed over you and for the first time, no one struck the other. No one tried to kill the other. Mohg watched the confused expression on your face as his face bent closer. "My putrid little dove" He'd snarl "What have you done to me" He would revel in the scream you let out as he sunk his fangs into you, if only to smell that sweet scent of your blood... Oh, how he hated you... but he loved it so much.

Morgott

Morgott could not stand you. How you rambled to him every time you came before him at the base of the erdtree. He loathed those wide doe eyes you gave him every time he sunk his shiny golden blades into your skin. He hated the noise that you let out, a faint whimper, as death took you over and over and over again. He wished you would just give up and quit your fruitless attempts at bringing forth an era of peace. He would be damned if he allowed you to destroy all he had left.

When you stopped coming before him to fight him, at first, Morgott was relieved. No more rambling about how cruel the world was and how you sought to fix it, no more wide doe eyes looking up at him, wet with tears... would you look that way for him? No, absolutely not. He would not dare to venture down such a degenerate spiral of thoughts and yet... he could not help but indulge himself in such thoughts.

As soon as you stood before Morgott again, something in the air between you had changed. Morgott did not lunge at you this time, he did not conjure any incanted weapons, and most curiously; his tail seemed to swish behind him... calmly. You refused to strike him if he did not attack first, he knew this, he was manipulating you accordingly.

You could not gauge how long you stood there until you realized that the look in Morgott's eye was hungry as he studied you from a safe distance. He was not scared of you, rather, he was scared of himself. What had befallen him to bring him to such degeneracy? Such thinking had no place in his mind. Not as a king and certainly not as an omen.

Morgott's hungry eyes wandered over your stomach and he imagined those wide doe eyes, staring up at him in shock as blood soaked his hand and incanted golden blade. The thought sent a prickle through his tail and up his spine, his blood boiling and running cold all at once. "Thou art a vile little seductress" he would claim, to your confusion, as he finally strode toward you, golden blade in hand. Perhaps, one more look at those big, wet eyes would ground him, pull him down from your ridiculous capture around his mind. Oh he hated you, loathed you. He wished you would stay dead and quit haunting his nightmares. Yet... the feeling that bubbled in his chest with the thought of you, despite it's ache, was so addicting... what a cruel fate...

i fucked up y'all, i edited a short fic for again &. again exclusively on tumblr (since i do that most of the time when it comes to drabbles rather than chapters) and when i was supposed to post it, my wifi went haywire which caused 3/4th's of the progress to be gone, so now i have nothing to post since ik y'all want crumbs for it 😭☠️

so i'm going to go fucking insane because for a while this aspect of malenia's character design has been bothering me and making me think I'm seeing things and going fucking crazy.

the aspect in question is malenia's left arm:

when i first saw malenia's arm my first thought was oh okay they're probably just bandages or some sort of wraps.

but then you look a bit closer and like

idk about you (because i might be losing it) but it seems like the mesh of whatever the fuck that is very clearly melded with her skin in a way/it looks like it's going into and then emerging out of her skin (which is HORRIFYING to think of I won't lie).

and once again i thought i was going crazy and seeing things because surely these were just meant to be wraps or bandages like the ones we see in the scene of her fighting radahn right?

and then the thought of the needle came to my mind. along with something malenia says in her cutscene before we fight her.

"my flesh was dull gold"

huh. now isn't that interesting.

this would imply that in order to stall the rot from consuming his sister, miquella made a plan to sew unalloyed gold into malenia's skin using his needle in a last-ditch attempt to save her arm.

(granted it's funnier to imagine he just sticks it in her arm and goes okay great all done! and that's probably the canon way it went but)

the thought of the sheer pain malenia must've gone through during this process, to be honest, and the thought of the guilt miquella must've felt at having to force his sister to endure even more agony just to help her is just sad.

and all of it is done just in an attempt to salvage what they can of her and hope that more can't be taken.

edit: btw when looking at malenia pre-bloom and pre-losing her needle it looks like there's a proper layer/cover/whatever it is around her arm up till her knuckles making it seem like an actual covering or layer on top of her skin and what not, but when we fight her post-bloom and post-losing needle it appears like some of the layers have either flaked or fallen away and that reveals that it's actually meshed with/into her skin.

Phainon will fail Nikador's trial.

Let me explain;

TLDR; Phainon will fail the trial as Nikador will reject him. However, he will be chosen by Kephale to lead the people of Amphoreus to victory. The coreflame of Nikador will instead go to an unwilling Mydei.

Soooo, Phainon is off on a big adventure trying to claim Nikador's divinity after surrendering their coreflame to the Vortex of Genesis since the ambassador of the prophecy doubts his strength of will. I'm here to tell you that he will fail this trial in some shape or form.

Throughout the trailblaze mission, Phainon proves on multiple occasions that he worries about those he cares about constantly. Obviously, the best example of this is how desperately he wants to help Mydei fight Nikador. When he's denied, and sent to discover Nikador's weakness instead, he spends the next couple of hours in-game yapping about how much time they're wasting. He's worried out of his mind, and the rest of the cast picks up on it all the time.

Not only that, but he doubts himself. Something troubles him ahead of surrendering the Coreflame to the Vortex, which both Castorice and Dan Heng notice. He seems to have no qualms about admitting it, but he clearly can't shake whatever it is making him falter. 

While there is nothing explicitly stating what he's worrying about, the possibilities are endless. Prior to being chosen by the prophecy, Phainon was fuelled by his desire for vengeance, described by Castorice as being a "hollow shell". She questions whether or not his new mission takes priority over his desire for revenge. Similarly, Mydei says Phainon's fear holds him back, and that his resolve must be toughened if he is to withstand whatever Nikador throws at him. Phainon evidently wears his heart on his sleeve, and it's a very troubled heart.

What this shows is that Phainon is not ready to dedicate himself entirely to the fight, which Nikador demands. Nikador uses extreme violence to extinguish strife and war to maintain the balance of Amphoreus, which currently doesn't quite line up with Phainon's character. He is more inclined to using violence as a way of defending and protecting people.

Now, that's not to say that Phainon has nothing to do with Nikador at all. He seems to be a figure the people can rally around and follow into battle, much like Nikador. However, I don't think this is enough to see him through his trial.

So, while Phainon will be rejected by Nikador on account of his fears, he will instead be chosen by Kephale.

Phainon is the Deliverer. This isn't just a silly nickname given to him by Mydei - it's his role in the story of Amphoreus. When he has overcome his own struggles, he will lead the people and the Chrysos Heirs through the crisis and towards a new dawn. In Aglaea's own words;

Now, what exactly she means by this is unclear, but it gives me an uneasy feeling. The only miracles we have seen so far have all involved looking back in time, which Phainon currently cannot do. However, Aglaea's words are eerily similar to those describing the legend of Kephale's return in the Tides of the Basin. Here, Kephale leads the people to victory against the black tide, which seems more fitting for Phainon's character.

So, Phainon will be chosen by Kephale, whether that means receiving their Coreflame or assuming their identity, or perhaps he already is Kephale, in his own way.

This is not only conveyed to us textually via foreshadowing within the story itself, but it is also communicated via visual design. Phainon's design is positively littered with Kephale's symbol and other sun-related imagery.

I can spot at least 12 instances of Kephale's symbol or sun motifs in his design. That's no coincidence. In comparison, the only real reference to Nikador is the fact that he wears white, which Nikador also does, according to the information provided via the Tides of the Basin.

But if Phainon won't get Nikador's divinity, then who will?

Well, the game basically shoves the answer in your face; Mydei. He's the prince of Castrum Kremnos, he has some manner of bloodlust, and he has no reservations about using violence as a means to an end. On paper, he's the perfect candidate, which Phainon states to Aglaea. However, Mydei has refused the Coreflame. He has done so implicitly, as well as explicitly, to both Phainon and Aglaea. He doesn't want the Coreflame, nor the divinity that comes with it, because he's afraid of leading his people down the same dark path as his predecessor. Seemingly, the only reason he wanted to deliver the final blow to Nikador was for bragging rights.

Thus, something has to change drastically for Mydei to not only be offered the Coreflame, but to accept it. What this will be, I have no idea, but it will start with Nikador spitting Phainon back out without making him a demigod.

And if that wasn't enough to convince you; they are literally associated with these Titans in-game:

In their respective entries in Amphoreus' Saga of Heroes, Phainon is depicted with the symbol of Kephale, whereas Mydei is depicted with Nikador's. Whether this is an oversight on hoyo's behalf or a not-so-subtle attempt at foreshadowing, we will likely never know, but it's interesting food for thought.

Now, this isn't some earth-shattering revelation, nor is it some super deep character analysis, but it will be super interesting to see Phainon's story unfold. His character development has the potential to be some of the best stuff hoyo has ever written if they manage to pull it off.
